One of the elements that are known is that depending on what web pages your site links to can have a good or bad effect on how well your web page is listed in the results. Let me describe how this works. Lets just point out that you have a link on your web page pointing to a web page that Google has banned from their results. When Google spiders your web page and follows the link you have pointing to the other web page, Google will think that you are in bed with the other web page which they already banned. At this stage Google may ban your website just for linking to that website, or at a minimum they will move your page in their search engine results so no one is ever going to find it.

But this also functions the other way around. I tested this principle to find out how much of a difference it could make to link to these good web pages. Every time I added a good link to a site that Google likes, I found that in a small amount of time my web page would receive better rankings. In some cases this was pages and sometimes I would go from number 10 on page 1, to between 3 and 5 on page 1.

This can be achieved by going to You Tube and also adding a video to your Internet site that relates to the subject matter of your website. This way not only are you setting up a link to You Tube a website that Google owns, but you are also adding video to your content material which Google also loves. Also you can just put a link to Google directly, as I found that this technique also helps. By just incorporating these couple of links you will realize that it will help the actual ranking of your Internet site rather quickly.

Once again, you also have to be cautious who you link to. Before exchanging links with any web page it is advisable to check on Google to discover if the web page that wants to trade links shows up in Google to begin with. If you find that Google does not have them listed it may be for the reason that they have banned that website. This may on the other hand not be the explanation, because if this web page is a fresh site it will be possible that Google just hasn’t discovered the Internet site yet. In either case the link won’t be doing you any good so don’t swap links with sites that are not listed in Google.
